Takahashi Amherst
Pheasant Pin
Each Takahashi bird is hand
carved and hand painted. The workmanship is
exquisite. This particular bird is the male Lady
Amherst Pheasant and was named after Sarah
Amherst, the wife of William Pitt Amherst. This
bird was introduced to London by William Amherst
in 1828. Unsigned, accompanied by an original card
and box, measures 4" by 2-1/2".
Excellent condition.
